For a game centred around a god that manifests itself in the form of a wolf, you’ve sure got a lot to learn. As Amaterasu you’re a sun god that has to save Nippon from the encroaching darkness, but to get to the point where you knock down demons with a whip of your snow-white tail you’ll have to get familiar with the Celestial Brush and the world you’re adventuring through. Slash is your most powerful attack to start off withRight at the beginning of Okami you’ll learn how to use the Celestial Slash, an attack that imbues your paintbrush with the power of a very sharp sword indeed. To start off with, this attack will be the best way to annihilate the green imps that will dog your every step (pun intended). A single slash will take down 90% of their health, meaning you can finish them off with a single blow from your reflector. Keep fights as short as possible and avoid taking damageYour fights will be measured both on the time it takes you to complete them, and the amount of damage you take. A blooming cherry blossom tree is the highest indicator of how well you’ve done, with a sprouting seed being the lowest.
The best place to get cheats, codes, cheat codes, walkthrough, guide, FAQ, unlockables, trophies, and secrets for Okami HD for PlayStation 3 (PS3). After leaving Hana Valley, Amaterasu will be back at Shinshu Field. Head towards the center of the field, where the area's Guardian Sapling is. Use Bloom to restore it and clear the Cursed zone, allowing Amaterasu to explore the area. Now, head to the high part of Shinshu Field, up on a series of ramps until Amaterasu is at the top of a hill overlooking Lake Harami. Head down to the torii of.
So keep your fights as short as possible and avoid taking as much damage, which will double the amount of yen you get from each scuffle. Every item in Okami costs quite a bit of cash, so these bonuses will add up quick.
Demon scrolls will chase you at nightDuring night-time those green, blue, and red demon scrolls that float around will become a lot more aggressive. Run past them when that moon is high in the sky and you’ll hear a deep sound as they attempt to chase you. The good news is that they give up pretty quickly (they’re not likely to follow you across the entire map), but you’ll want to give them a wide berth as they’ll quickly catch up to you if you sway too close to them.
To escape any that inadvertently catch you just attack the bright green spot on the edges until it turns red, at which point you can jump through the borders and escape the fight unscathed (hopefully). Look out for glowing spots in the earth at nightBut the night-time isn’t all bad.
In fact, keep those eyes peeled and you’ll spot glowing white spots in the ground which indicate that a chest is hiding just below the surface. Dig in those spots and you’ll find treasures hidden underground. But during the day some of these bonus bits and bobs are still visible - simply scan the ground for a small golden crescent-moon shape emerging from the dirt, and you’ll find a buried chest.5. Sprint quicker by pressing Y and keep going forwardOkami introduces fast travel fairly late on into the game, so until you unlock mermaid coins that allow you to travel between different whirlpools you’ll want to get from point A to B as quickly as possible. So tap the Y button to dash, then keep the left analog stick pointed forwards to start sprinting immediately.
In any other situation you’d have to start off with a gentle run before working your way up to sprinting after about five seconds, so using the dash button to skip that beginning section saves you valuable seconds. Rosary beads should be your weapon of choiceWhen it comes to Divine Instruments, the range of weapons that Amaterasu can use in the game, while Reflectors (the shields you wear on your back) and the Swords might deal more damage per hit, the Rosary Beads attack far quicker, like a submachine gun. Stringing up the combos means that you can take down enemies far quicker by using Rosary Beads than with any other weapon. So if you want to get as much yen as possible by making your fights short and sweet, use the Rosary Beads and ditch the Reflectors and Glaives. No matter how shiny they look. Start hoarding demon fangs early onDemon fangs are a special type of currency that gets you one-off enchanted objects that do anything from drawing coins towards you to warding off demon scrolls. In other words, they are very useful indeed.
In order to get them you can do one of two things. Either wait until you’ve killed an enemy and slash them with your Celestial Brush when they go into slow-mo in mid-air, which works with most enemies (except for bosses) and will net you one to two demon fangs per opponent.
Or you can learn Golden Fury from the Dojo for 100,000 yen which teaches you to - no joke - pee on your demonic enemies and cause them to shed a couple of demon fangs each. Level up your favourite weapons with gold dust as soon as possibleGold dust is sold by most merchants and it might be expensive, but it’s definitely worth it. Each dose of gold dust powers up your weapon of choice permanently, although it can only be used once. Applying them to your favourite weapon can improve its damage by up to roughly 30%, making it well worth the price when it comes to killing those pesky demons as quickly as possible.Hankering for more canine godly goodness?

Calcified Cavern After a brief conversation with a pair of imps, turn south into the Calcified Cavern. There seems like a lot to explore, but there's only one thing you can do right now. Head to the south end of the cavern to find a lone demon gate.Pass through the gate to start a battle with a black imp.
Use a Power Slash or two to first knock out the evil skulls floating around the enemy. With the skulls banished, fight the imp (we used counter attacks for style) to clear the gate and reveal a chest. Inside the chest you'll find a mask which you can decorate however you choose. With the mask equipped, return to the north to chat with the two imp guards. After another brief conversation, you can continue through the gate behind them to return to the Moon Cave.Moon Cave Once back in the Moon Cave, explore the kitchen to the east. If you to talk to the imp that's in the kitchen he'll tell you that the chef is missing. Connect the two hooks on the top of the large pot to the Konohana blossoms overhead to rip off the cover and reveal the chef. The chef is so grateful that he asks you to do something else for him; gather up some Ogre Liver, Lips of Ice, Eyeball of Fire, and a Black Demon Horn.
Grab the key the chef leaves you and head west to unlock a door. Just through the door is a long cavern with no floor. To keep going west, you'll have to use your Vine brush technique. Just watch out for the upside-down Konohana blossom—you won't be able to rest on them, forcing you to quickly swing from blossom to blossom until you reach solid land. Don't start the ride before your ink wells are full. When you reach the far side of the cavern, Power Slash the creepy eye to open the next doorway and continue to another room. Just inside is a demon gate you'll need to pass through to start a quick battle with a couple of imps and a bud ogre. Defeat the enemies to earn the Ogre Liver from a chest that appears.Turn around and backtrack through the cavern with the Konohana blossoms (again, be sure that your ink wells are full before you start swinging).
When you return to solid land on the other said of the chasm, the camera will pan to show you a bubbling spring. Use the Watersprout brush technique and jump on the water platform that you create to reach a ledge above. The narrow tunnel at the top of the ledge leads to a set of walkways overlooking a room you've previously been to (the hub that leads to the kitchen).
Use Watersprout on a nearby pool of water and jump into the stream to reach the walkway above. To the left is a small passage that leads to a very narrow walkway. Move back and forth across the walkway until it collapses, dropping you into another calcified cavernous area.Move through the demon gate in the cavern to fight off a few imps. When they're defeated, a pool of water will appear next to a large bamboo fountain. Connect the water to the fountain with the Watersprout brush technique to open up a valve that drains the water of an earlier area. You can jump into the open valve to exit the area by drawing a Water Lily platform on the water.
Just through the valve is another room with a lone black imp. Defeat him, then Power Slash the pole with the peeping eye to open up the chasm below, revealing a pool of poisonous water.Best not to jump straight into the poisonous water. Use Watersprout on a nearby spring to reach the main level of the room above.
Look for a platform suspended by chains and held in place by an imp. He warns not to disturb him lest the platform go crashing down into the pit below. Power Slash him anyway and he'll drop the controls, sending the platform down.
You'll have to slash him a number of times before reaching an opening (it appears to the left if you're facing the imp).
